Madhnikas are the Intoxications. Intoxication of anything takes you away from God and Karma which spoils your journey. The whole concept of this Temple is Gurutva - the force of attraction, a smaller energy body getting attracted to a bigger energy body.
Gopuram
Gopuram is seen at the entrance of the temple. "go" means cows and "puram" is the place of their living. Cows have been given the highest place in our civilized Vedic culture. Chennakeshava Temple, also referred to as Keshava, Kesava or Vijayanarayana Temple of Belur, is a 12th-century Temple in the Hassan district of Karnataka state, India. It was commissioned by King Vishnuvardhana in 1117 CE, on the banks of the Yagachi River in Belur also called Velapura, an early Hoysala Empire capital.
